Ziyang(/ziːjæŋ/) Jiang was born in the city of Shenzhen, China. During his undergraduate years, he studied Television and Broadcasting, and Mass Communication in Shenzhen University. His thesis film Out of the Woods was selected into the 2018 China International Short Film Festival.
In August 2021, he moved to San Francisco to pursue his master degree. Meandering between genres and mediums while experimenting various ideas, he made his first attempt into video art and accompolished his thesis with a two-channel video installation.
In May 2022, he graduated from California College of the Arts and received his Master Degree in Film.
